As a city of coffee-lovers, there’s really only one way to kickstart a day out with your four-legged pal in Perth…and there are lots of awesome spots to choose from when it comes to getting your fur-friendly caffeine fix. We’re not just talking about treats for humans, we’re talking about some seriously dedicated dog-loving cafés with their very own offerings for furry plus ones. From puppicinos and homemade treats to full-blown doggy menus (check out Burns Beach Café to see what we mean), your pooch will be more than catered for at these dog-friendly breakfast spots.

Scenic walk along a dog-friendly beach

With some of the best beaches on offer across Australia (not that we’re biased at all), life doesn’t get much better than a coastal walk with your furry pal. True to the city’s pup-loving nature, you’ll find a number of dog-friendly beaches along Perth’s coast, some of which are entirely dedicated to our four-legged friends. For a full glimpse of the local scenery Perth has to offer, what can be more fitting than a tour of the Swan River? Thanks to local charter company, Chiquita Charters, Perth’s pooches are now welcomed aboard every Sunday for a pet-friendly cruise through the city’s most scenic routes. The tour comes complete with puppy treats, stunning views, and plenty of pats from the crew (we’re told they’re non-negotiable). And best of all...it’s free for four-legged friends!

Check out a local dog-friendly market

For a true taste of the talent Perth has to offer, we recommend taking your pooch to check out some of the local dog-friendly markets hosted around the city. If you’re based south of the river, you’re sure to find many a furry footprint at the Manning markets on Saturday mornings, or head over to Vic Park Farmer’s Market on Sundays to meet some of their regular dog-friendly makers and lounge around at their dedicated ‘dog bar’. The Inglewood night markets are a great option for pups based in the northern suburbs, with a host of food trucks and dog-friendly delights for pooches and their people.

Organise a puppy playdate

If you’re after something a little different from your standard dog-friendly date, we’ve got the perfect pet-friendly activity in mind to satisfy the more adventurous soul. Local paddle-boarding company, SUP tonic, regularly run dog-friendly paddle boarding classes called Pups on SUPs which double up as a great obedience session for pooches in training (or as we prefer, some good old fashioned bonding time with your furry pal). Alternatively, if you’re looking for a place where your pooch can socialise with fellow furbabies, check out some of the regular pet-friendly events hosted around the city, including breed-specific playdates at Slate Cafe and ‘Social Saturdays’ at Pawsome Doggy Day Care in Booragoon.

Enjoy a drink at a pet-friendly pub

Whether it’s a sundowner after a long day’s work or a pet-friendly pit stop while you’re out exploring, you’ll find no better place to relax and unwind than at one of Perth’s pet-friendly pubs and wineries. From beachside hangouts at Odyssea to local wine sampling at Ugly Duckling Winery, there are plenty of places to enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple with your fur-friend in tow.
